About Us - Paige and Sam's Era Tour

UW Madison
Paige and Sam first met at UW-Madison. Technically, they first met during their first semester chemistry class freshman year. Sam sat next to Paige's high school friend, Rashid and Paige sat a few rows in front of them, but they never actually talked to one another. The summer before sophomore year, they officially met at a party that Sam threw to watch the big McGregor vs Mayweather fight. They quickly began talking and not too long after, Sam and Paige began dating and never looked back. From 7AM classes to B1G10 Championship games, Paige and Sam grew close over their love for the outdoors, being active, a competitive nature, and being able to goof around together. UW Madison is where Paige taught Sam to play Rummikub, a game that's become a staple in both extended families. It's also where Sam introduced Paige to beer pong, which she proceeded to always be twice the player Sam was, in front of all his fraternity friends. Both Paige and Sam have fond memories of UW Madison, but knew it was time to move on to another city for graduate schooling, thus the two headed out to Iowa. 

Des Moines
Paige and Sam's time in Des Moines started on what some would consider a low point, the summer of 2020. While the lower rent and place to themselves was a welcome change, it took several months for the two to make the 920 sq ft apartment feel like a home. Some of the early highlights of their time in Iowa included Paige becoming top of her class didactic year, adopting two kittens (Rosie and Nala), and becoming friends with some of Paige's classmates. Outside of school, Paige and Sam began biking around the many trails in the area. Sam even decided to do a 100 mile ride on a mountain bike after beginning to bike only a month and a half earlier. Both ultimately enjoyed their time in Iowa, but knew it wasn't permanent. They traveled from South Carolina to Washington to explore and look for a new place to call home. Which brings us to the couple's current location, and likely another stop on the Eras tour to their final destination.

Memphis
A totally unexpected location to both, but a new experience all the same. Sam and Paige packed up a U-Haul and moved in July of 2022. For Paige, Memphis had an exciting job opportunity that would provide experience in both a clinical and surgical setting with the opportunity to be a part of a growing practice. For Nala and Rosie, Memphis is the spot they first experienced a fenced in yard and freedom to explore the outdoors without a harness. Moving to Memphis has had a lot of positives and negatives. The warm weather has been amazing and is now something both Sam and Paige prioritize in their next (and hopefully final) destination. Paige has continued to grow as a new PA and work with a wide-range of patients. One negative has been the realization that neither person likes having to drive more than 15 minutes, which makes living in the suburbs less ideal. Sam and Paige know they'll likely move on from Memphis at some point, but aren't sure exactly where they land next and are taking it one day at a time to enjoy what life brings!

Oshkosh
The place were Sam popped the question! Traveling back home for a long weekend, Paige had a perfect 24th birthday, complete with boating, cake, and Sam proposing. As they were opening gifts, boxes from large to small came down to an engagement ring and Sam on one knee. Of course she said yes!, as we are all here preparing for the big day.
